The Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia is planning to purchase the rights of 90 thousand books from all over the world. The move intends to enhance the e-Education project currently under development in the Kingdom. The overall cost of the project is expected to reach around SR 70 million with the participation of many Saudi universities. King Saud University will bear half of the cost. The main purpose as described will be to provide students and academics with additional educational tools and to reduce the cost of learning.

The project is targeting books published between the years from 2005 to 2008 with origins from all over the world especially those that originate in Europe and USA.
